Events

Help us with off-site or on-site adoption events, fundraisers, or community outreach programs. Volunteers assist with adoptable pets, engage with potential adopters, distribute information, or help with various tasks during fundraising events. Check out our Events Calendar for upcoming opportunities to get involved.

Ready to make an impact? Apply to become a volunteer. Once your application is approved, you'll be able to sign up for upcoming events and help us in our mission to improve the lives of homeless animals.

Dog Walkers

Our Downtown Dogs Program offers the perfect opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to give a shelter dog a day of fun while enjoying nature. Whether you're a hiker, walker, or runner, you can take a dog along for the ride! Stop by and pick up a dog for a quick walk on your lunch break or take them out for a full-day adventure. As long as they're back at the shelter by 5pm for dinner, you have the freedom to spend the day however you like with your furry companion.

Come help a dog explore the outdoors while giving them the love and attention they deserve!

Help from home

There are many creative and fun ways to support Angels of Assisi from the comfort of your home! Here are a few ideas:

• Create enrichment activities for the animals to keep them engaged and happy

• Host a Bake Sale for pets and people and donate the proceeds to Angels of Assisi.

• Place Donation Jars or Boxes at local businesses to collect funds for our cause.

• Make “Adopt Me” Bandanas for the dogs to help them stand out and get adopted.

• Host a Fundraising Event such as a car wash, dog wash, lemonade stand, or garage sale and donate the proceeds to Angels of Assisi.

• Manage an “Adoptables” Bulletin Board at your workplace to showcase our animals in need of homes.

• Organize a donation drive at work, church, or club for pet supplies from our Wish List.

• Host a classroom contest at your school to see which group of students can contribute the most to helping animals.

• Get involved in our Foster Program by opening your home to an animal in need.

• Share our adoptable animals on your social media profile or blog to help them find forever homes.

• Write biographies for our adoptable animals to showcase their personalities on our website.

• Host Adoption Events at your workplace to connect with potential pet adopters.
