Angels of Assisi partnered with a prior Southeast Roanoke grocery store to bring a pet food pantry to the community. Saleeba’s Grocery closed several years ago, and the owners wanted to repurpose the space to positively impact the community. Saleeba’s Grocery has been a part of the community since 1946, and the organizations are eager to see this transformation come to life.

The store located at 926 Tazewell Ave SE is now Saleeba’s Store of Hope. Saleeba’s Store of Hope is home to a pet food pantry for those in the community and their pets who need assistance. Saleeba’s will be open on select days and times to best serve the community. The goal is to help people and their pets stay together. Angels of Assisi hopes that bringing the pet food pantry to Southeast Roanoke will help families and animals who could not otherwise reach their services. Currently, Saleeba’s Store of Hope is open the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 2 pm – 4 pm.

If you’d like to donate pet food to the pantry, Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home has generously offered to be a drop off location. Pet food donations can be brought to their facility during normal business hours, 8 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am – 12 pm on Saturday.
